Mission and History

Founded in 1995 by the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Theta Omega Chapter, The Ivy Legacy Foundation (TILF) is a charitable entity fully committed to making an educational, cultural, and societal difference in the Greater Philadelphia community.

TILF was initially created to raise scholarship dollars for college-bound graduating high school seniors as well as non-traditional students pursuing higher education. To date, over $350,000 in scholarships has been awarded. The Foundation also supports other charities in our area due to the tremendous need that exists among our local population.

Scholarship Program

The Foundation has awarded over $350,000 in scholarships to exceptional high school seniors as well as non-traditional students from the greater Philadelphia Area including the newly funded Philly’s Teens Are Cookin’ Culinary Scholarship. In addition to the proceeds received from our signature fundraiser, Philly’s Men Are Cookin’, the Foundation awards scholarships in the names of and on behalf of numerous private donors.
