Instilling Vision in Youth Mentoring AKAdemy (IvyAKAdemy)


IVY AKAdemy is a youth enrichment and mentoring program for high school girls sponsored by The Ivy Legacy Foundation and the Rho Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  RTO has been mentoring youth in the Greater Philadelphia area for over 25 years. The 10-month program runs from September through June and has workshops that focus on career & college exploration, STEM initiatives, etiquette, building positive relationships and team building activities. 


Mission Statement - IVY AKAdemy promotes and fosters achievement, self-awareness, communication, empowerment and leadership to improve the trajectory of the lives of young people by increasing their potential for success and laying the foundation for positive, productive and fulfilling lives.

IVY AKAdemy Mentoring Program

The IVY AKAdemy Mentoring Program is thrilled to return for another successful year! Our 2024-2025 program was held entirely in-person and featured a variety of engaging sessions designed to provide a well-rounded experience on:


 Leadership Development: Building essential leadership skills and qualities.

 Academic Excellence: Strategies for achieving academic success.

 Career Planning: Guidance on career paths, professional growth resumewriting, and more.

 Personal Development: Enhancing self-awareness and personal skills.

 Networking: Opportunities to connect with mentors and peers.


Team building and leadership activities remain the heart of our dynamic and engaging programming! We were thrilled to welcome IVY AKAdemy graduates and current college students to share their college experiences and offer valuable insights on successfully navigating high school and beyond. Our young ladies took part in STEM2D activities and also took the initiative to plan and execute a community service project, collecting and assembling hygiene care packages for unhoused women and youth.
